My book for Alice In Wonderland Going Down The Rabbit Hole Again. |
I am going down the rabbit hole again. The challenge is to write about how you got to WDC and why you remained. 1. I have been here 23 years. 2. My house burned down, my job at the county home closed down and was changing over to a mental health facility. 3. I felt like I had fallen down a rabbit hole and what do I do next? 4. A friend of mine was trying to be a writer, had written items and reminded me I had an associate Of Arts Degree towards Journalism. 5. We got a new house, was starting over and I enrolled in a Creative Writing Class. 6. I took the class and found WDC, which was Stories then listed in one of my writing work books. 7. I signed up as a member, met some nice helpful people, did some writing, got reviews and got Merit Badges, joined groups and I was loving writing. 8. I then signed up for a Short Story Writing Class that I did by mail. 9. I didn't like my instructor but I learned a lot. 10. I worked on a novelette, Passage To Romance: A woman of the present goes back to the past, meets pirates and The Lord Of The Manor. 11. My novelette got published and I was on Cloud Nine. 12. I wrote another novel, Princess Of Scruples: A Princess becomes Queen after her father dies, meets her gypsy family, her gypsy sister gets pregnant by her husband and the Princess is unhappy. 13. This novel had a happy ending, forgiveness, dragons, unicorn, scruples, mellowing out and a Princess knows she is spoiled and cares about others. 14. This novel was published as well and I was happy. 15. I shared this novel and my novelette with WDC and I wrote Medieval Stories, poems, Christmas items and tried a variety of genres. 16. I kept meeting new friends and I helped others with their novels by giving advice and was included on their Dedication Pages. 17. My mental health job was rough, I did online courses for Nursing online and I would sneak on to WDC. 18. I would work on stories, contest entries but I never neglected my job and all the patients. 19. My mental health job was like Wonderland: The White Knight Talking Backwards, Getting stuff thrown at me and We Are All Mad Here! 20. I worked at my mental health job and once wrote a poem about one of my mentally ill people that I loved. 21. I started writing stories about dragons, a unicorn named Sprinkles and a bunny named Bo. 22. The Storymaster and The Storymistress are so nice and helped me became a writer. 23. I am not famous and I no longer worry about being Danielle Steel or Jane Austen. 24. Everything I write on here is published, I have run contests, won contests, lost contests, met more friends, got some great story writing ideas and I love being part of this community. 25. Birthday Week: I write, love the rewards, great writing opportunities and I know someone is reading my writing! I'm a Writer! I have evolved and this Rabbit Hole, I never want to leave! |
