100 word Mirco-fiction Entry

Time itself began to slow, its second hand matching my faltering heartbeat. I lay broken on the sodden grass, frozen in fear, in disgust, in shame – afraid to move in case they returned. The ground beneath me felt cold and a chill took root in my bones. I closed my eyes and rolled onto my side, my back shielding me from the nightmares as they retreated back into the shadows; their muffled voices carried on the wind in whispers. I died tonight and my world turned to ash by monsters disguised as men.
