A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
Started Sentences Setup For once, I was right. It didn’t take me too long to verify the scene numbers associated with the six main characters for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. That only took me about an hour to accomplish. Another two hours to plug them into the Act for my Parts and Episodes. I only had one scene with back-to-back characters, but it was an easy fix. It turned out to work out even better than I thought. I didn’t need to do the same thing with my secondary characters, but I did it anyway. After all, I adjusted the three main characters slightly. The only drawback to my newest spreadsheet and update is that the secondary characters have two characters that start each Act and end each Act, after the single main character that starts and ends each Act. I had to do that because of the two-part Movie Introduction. I could go back to the old format for my Episodes, but I don’t want to do that. It’s too confusing, at least it is to me. I think it’s best if the Parts and Episodes are the same format, especially when it works out so well overall. I can live with the double secondary characters. After I set up my scene Act phase for this spreadsheet, I had to verify the number of scenes for each character added up. They did, thirty-two scenes for every Part or Episode for the main characters and eighteen for the secondary characters. Even the Scene Fives and Scene Tens changed slightly. The Fives and Tens didn’t change for the three main characters in these Parts and Episodes, but they did slightly for the secondary characters. After all, when I changed the line-up for the three main characters, I did it for the secondary characters. That change changed the Fives and Tens slightly. The spreadsheet update only took about three hours total to accomplish. That left about seven to eight hours to start working on my sentences for my Act Breakdowns, my Story Outlines, and my scene outlines. Unfortunately, I only got the Act Breakdowns and Story Outlines done overnight. Seven or eight hours to work on these sentences doesn’t equal twelve hours because of the three hours for the spreadsheet. What happened to the extra hour or two? It was delayed because of work and taking care of some personal business. It was mostly work overnight last night. I had some trouble with one of the truck drivers yesterday evening and overnight early this morning. It wasn’t a violent type of trouble, but it was time-consuming, and that slowed me down with my writing. I still wrote, but I was slowed down because of this trouble. Why did I only get ninety sentences written yesterday evening and overnight early this morning? I didn’t get any sentences written yet. I’m still working on the setup for my Act Breakdowns, Story Outlines, and Scene Outlines. That isn’t easy to do because of the Copying and Pasting. First, I had to delete each sentence and scene numbers associated with each character. Then, I had to copy and paste the new scene numbers associated with each character into these Act Breakdowns and Story Outlines. Copying and pasting is what took me so long with this setup. That’s why I only got ninety sentences ready to be written for my Act Breakdowns and Story Outlines. There will be a lot of copying and pasting with my Scene Outlines, but it shouldn’t be too bad. The same, I think, with setting up my paragraph Outlines. After all, they are also copying and pasting.
