David's Day

the sun woke me up
I put on socks and shoes, hop
between the shadows 17

ring ring the bell rings
we add subtract and read, look
out the window . 16

hot dog or corn dog?
Ice cream! we scream for joy
make smiley faces 16

we go outside to play
clouds gather and speak to us
we splash back 16

we wait for the bus
sun snow wind or rain tomorrow
we do it again. 17
