Just things that I think about now and then. |
In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry (Ephesians 4:26) “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32) Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. (Proverbs 16:32) The Bible does not say "Don't be angry". On the contrary, you can be angry about things, as long as you don't let your emotions overcome you. For example, Jesus wasn't above being angry when we read: Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.'" (Matthew 21:12-13) He directed His anger at the mob scene of buying and selling, the turning of the temple into a marketplace. Anger for anger's sake doesn't help anything; Anger at injustice or wrongdoing in itself isn't helpful, unless you can promote or provide change. This is just my opinion, but I feel pretty confident in what I've read. ![]() |
