TUYC May 15 on motives
At one time (a long time ago) I was interested in Witchcraft. Not bubble bubble toil and trouble kind, but more of a "nature" and "natural healing"...that kind of thing. I was curious what all of the hullabaloo was all about. I can see where this kind of thing can be seductive and cause one to look toward nature, rather than the Creator.
Motives are important. While man looks at the outward things, God sees the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 for one example. The Pharisees also struggled with this:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.
Matthew 23:27
Prayer prompt: Pray that the heart of those involved in witchcraft would be turned toward God and they would repent of their sins to Follow Christ.
Blog prompt: When it comes to sin and good deeds too, do you think your motives are important? Does God take it into consideration when you are judged for your works on Earth? Why?
