Missing the Cold of Christmas Time
So hot it is these longish days.
I melt right through my shirt.
How cold it was when light displays
kept childlike hearts alert.

The air conditioner's a must
in Georgia's muggy heat.
The 30's daily cold we trust,
so snuggled in a seat.

Don't barehand the steering wheel too soon
when the car's been in the sun,
but sing a little Christmas tune
when nighttime's cold is done.

Our Independence Day has lights
that shine through dark night skies.
The twinkle lights light up the nights
to heal affected sighs.

The fireworks of the coolish eve
relieve the daytime heat,
and Winter's chill can oft achieve
the southern heat's defeat.
