Miami To Key West Florida

         I must apologize. I recently returned from a one-week camping excursion with my youngest grandgiggles, six and two. The Wheels on The Bus is still stuck on a loop in my psyche. Besides, we're all adults and we know perfectly well that the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round. It's a given. We also grasp that the people on the bus go up and down. Yes, there is a certain amount of swaying and even jostling. If a few lines of this song slipped out, I'm sorry.

         Will I be forgiven for humming the sound track from Miami Vice ? There isn't a call for it here in Canada. Is it just me, or is anyone else recalling Gloria Estefan music, too?

         Today, I learned that all those keys in Florida refer to islands. Interesting bit of trivia.

         Rambling along a highway that refers to itself as The Overseas Highway is a first for me. The Road That Floats. Okay. The Highway That Goes To Sea. On the face of it that is quite the bold claim. We, Canadians, have ice roads, but no sea roads.

         We traverse forty-two over seas bridges and one-hundred and thirteen miles. Wow. There is the Confederation Bridge in Canada that links Prince Edward Island to the main land. It is eight miles long and claims to be the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water. Oh, and we do not refer to PEI as a key. Geography perspective.

         The scenery we passed is as promised, breathtaking. All those gorgeous shades of blue and green. Did I mention green is my favourite colour? Oh, the emerald is dazzling. Is it passe to gush and declare all of this as a feast for the eyes?
