Listening to the Trees Whispering in Lincoln Park

Walking through Lincoln Park
In DC’s Capitol Hill
I imagine hearing the trees

Whispering amongst themselves
Everything they have seen
And heard in the park

Thre trees remember everything
Even as humans forget things
The trees continue to whispher
As I walk by
