| Well, there’s not many 7-11’s in North Dakota, but that’s okay. WakeUpAndLive~gummy worms BOO made Maid of the Mist Most Macabre some of her coffee and we chugged through North Dakota until we got to Medora. Medora is a quaint little town before you get to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Medora has retained an “old west” feel to it. We went and checked out the Rough Riders Hotel to recharge the Nalgene bottles with old fashioned lemonades before hitting the park. One of the things I appreciate about Roosevelt is his foresight to make land like this into National Parks. The rugged beauty and animal life is awe inspiring. And what’s nice is we can take the Party Bus through the park! Reluctant Halloweenist put down the windows and every so often we would stop and smell the fresh humid air. My hair immediately became a frizz bomb. I better not find my way into one of Spooky Kooky Krista Instagram stories! One stop there was a herd of bison – or big shagged cows as I like to think of them. Gotta admit though – lotta methane in the air over there. The bison might have munched on something that didn’t quite agree with them. AmyJo-Zombie hours had a soft spot for the Prairie dogs. Me and her whistled at the Prairie dogs. They looked at us and waved. We were totally freaked out!! How many people whistle at Prairie dogs?! {user;elusive4lyn} and Morticia Wednesday Megan Rose laughed at us! Morticia Wednesday Megan Rose tried to find a Kate Spade purse in the Visitor’s center but the closest she got was a Rattlesnake skin one. It was kinda icky. Afterwards, A Warped Witch I Be took over driving and we went to the International Peace Museum. It’s a really cool flower garden built on the North Dakota/Canadian border back in the 1930’s. On the way over there, Morticia Wednesday Megan Rose played cards with WakeUpAndLive~gummy worms BOO and Reluctant Halloweenist and AmyJo-Zombie hours read a book. The Peace Garden was in full bloom and boasted of over 100,00 flowers. It reminded me of the Keukenhof in the Netherlands. Reluctant Halloweenist suggested we rent kayaks and kayak around the lakes in the garden. Spooky Kooky Krista took a lot of pictures for her Instagram. It was a great day to be in nature. We rented one of the cabins at the Peace Garden and enjoyed just sitting around the campfire and relaxing drinking tea and coffee. Spooky Kooky Krista FINALLY shared her Instagram with all of us and we went diving throught her pictures, though Maid of the Mist Most Macabre had to download the app. |
