| Prompts day 3: Story to include a present/ gift. The king invited everyone to celebrate his son's twelfth birthday. Each person presented the boy with a gift. Whoever brought the greatest gift would be appointed second in command. A poor young couple brought all they had: a fig seedling and a song. Waiting in line, they saw hundreds leaving dejectedly, their expensive gifts not deemed great enough. “Why should we disturb with our poverty?” the husband sighed. “We must show our devotion,” said his wife. Their humble offerings made the king smile. “You brought love and life. Those are the greatest gifts.” Their song and seedling blessed the kingdom. Words: 100. |
