Prompts day 17: Story to feature a real-life famous person (remember: nothing defamatory!).

Ryan Tedder sat scrunched over his Ableton, headphones on. His wife Genevieve peeked into the studio.

“Honey, are you done yet? Dinner's almost ready.”

Of course, he didn't hear her. But he sensed she was there, turned, and pulled them off with a lopsided grin.

“You gotta hear this one – I'm telling you, it's gold.”

He cranked the volume up and pressed play. His own low, gently raspy voice came out, a soft opening followed by a jangly, enthusiastic guitar line.

Genevieve smiled, patting his shoulder.

“A future platinum, dear. Now let's eat.”

That song sealed OneRepublic's place in history.
