| When I first heard this song, it instantly reminded me of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." In a lot of ways, I think it might be the spiritual successor to that spooky classic, and I can see it probably catching on and becoming similarly iconic during the month of October in years to come. It certainly didn't hurt that the Netflix series Wednesday chose it for their second-season dance routine. The first-season dance scene was a classic, and easily the most memorable part of the entire season, so the fact that they replicated that success again with another iconic dance number featuring this song definitely won't hurt the series' success, or the popularity of the song. Lady Gaga continues to prove that she's a songwriting force to be reckoned with, borrowing from popular influences and yet making songs that are distinctly her own. And I didn't even realize until I saw this video that Tim Burton directed it which, honestly, is pitch perfect for the vibe this song is giving off. I can already tell this song is going to be in a regular rotation on my playlist over the next several weeks. —————————————————————————————— 191 words PROMPT: Written for "Note: 48-HOUR CHALLENGE : Media Prompt Deadl..." |
