I’m doing a time travel story about a future version of my main character traveling back to the present and interacting with his past self, so I need to do two of these.

30 year old Nolan, 5 years in the future:

(1) 30 year old Nolan Navarro is on his honeymoon with his new wife, Natalie Gaines. They are walking on the top of a cliff in front of their hotel, looking at the ocean. Nolan doesn’t drink alcohol, so he decides to drink a protein shake instead. His wife decides to go make it for him, and heads back to their hotel room.

(2) A time rift forms in front of Nolan, and he is pulled through time and space to that exact location, 5 years prior. His wife is gone, and he realizes he is trapped in the past. He had been foretold that this would happen, so he traveled with a hundred dollar bill that was more than five years old, so he could track down his younger self.

25 year old Nolan, in the present day:

(1) 25 year old Nolan is obese, he hovers between 250 and 275 pounds, but can’t seem to shake off the excess weight. He is at his gym finishing up. Glenn Tana, a muscular ballet instructor, laughs at Nolan.

“You’ve been coming to this gym for three years and you’re still fat!” said Glenn.

Nolan ignored the comment and headed toward the exit.

(2) Between the checkout desk and the front door is a man the same height as Nolan, but extremely lean and more muscular. He introduces himself as Nolan’s future counterpart from 5 years in the future. He couldn’t enter the gym because his fingerprint is the same as Nolan’s.

As they head out of the building, before future Nolan can explain to his younger counterpart the details of what happened to him, Natalie Gaines, a woman he is interested in, approaches him.

“Who is this buff guy, Nolan?” Natalie asks.

“I’m his cousin from upstate,” future Nolan replies, “my house burned down so I’m staying with Nolan for a while.”

“What’s your name?” Natalie replied.

“Deuce!” the older version of Nolan replied, because he couldn’t think of anything else. Since there are two of them, and Deuce means 2, Nolan decided on that nickname.
