| Started But Not Finished I have some good news and not-so-good news for my spreadsheet of my movie, Calkin Cove. The good news is that I now know that I can use two characters to start and end each Act of this movie. Unfortunately, the not-so-good news is that it took me almost my whole shift early yesterday evening until early this morning to realize that. When I got to work yesterday afternoon at six PM WDC time, I started to work on my spreadsheet for my Calkin Cove movie. Unfortunately, it took almost my whole twelve-hour shift early yesterday evening to early this morning to finish writing my spreadsheet for this movie for me to realize I didn’t need one character to start and end these Acts after all. It was more like ten hours yesterday evening and earlier today because of all the responsibilities I had to accomplish at work during that twelve-hour shift. I know that it isn’t usually busy at work on a Sunday evening and a Monday morning, but this time it was for this shift. I wasn’t too busy at work during this twelve-hour shift, but I was busy enough that it slowed me down some to work on the spreadsheet for this movie project. As a result, it took me a whole lot longer to finish creating this spreadsheet than I thought it would or should. Why did it take me so long to create this spreadsheet during my ten hours at work yesterday evening and early this morning? The main reason it took me so long is because of how long it took me to create a pattern for my six main characters in this movie. It took me about four hours to figure out this pattern for my movie, Calkin Cove. Unfortunately, I didn’t like this pattern too well, but it worked out in the end for my six main characters, especially the secondary characters in each Act. The second characters weren’t perfection either, but they were better than the main characters. It’s not as bad as it reads, though. I did like one other thing about this spreadsheet. I like that I learned that I can use the two main characters to start and end each Act after all. After I finished creating my spreadsheet, I did the numbering for each character and each Act in this movie. Once I finished this spreadsheet, I looked at it to make sure it was done. While I was looking at this spreadsheet, I realized that I could have used the two characters to begin and end each Act in this movie instead of the one character that I thought I would need to protect this movie and start working on the documents for this movie and spreadsheet project tomorrow. Unfortunately, I’m not quite there yet. It didn’t take me too long to figure out a pattern for all six characters in the movie to have the same number of scenes for this movie, but the spreadsheet is the only thing that I got done today for this project. I still have the scene number verification to do on it. Some of it I got done today, but not all of it. Why didn’t I get this part of my planning and setup for my Calkin Cove scriptwriting project done today? What is the usual reason why I don’t get more writing done in a day than I thought to get done in that day? That’s right, it’s because of what my brother and I need to accomplish today. It wasn’t much, but it took us longer to do it than I thought it would. |
