Set-Up and the First Three
Set-Up and the First Three

Sometime during my first Twelve-hour shift, which I started at work on Saturday between six PM WDC time to early Sunday morning at six AM WDC time, the new prompt for this month came out for the WDC Short Story Contest. I was still at work when it was posted, and I can’t get internet while I’m at work. So, I didn’t see it until after I got off work.

It was early Sunday morning, after I got home from work, that I got the new WDC Short Story prompt for this month. When I got this new WDC prompt, I started to think of a Short Story that went along with it. By the time I went back to work early Sunday evening at six PM WDC time, I already had this new WDC Short Story figured out.

After I got to work, I started working on the setup for this WDC Short Story. It didn’t take me long to set up this Short Story. I had the title for this Short Story, the title description for it, and the ten sentences all within the first two hours of my shift. That’s not all, though. I also had two paragraphs that aren’t part of this Short Story.

I usually have about four or five paragraphs that I write for most of my short stories, aka a synopsis. Unlike most of my synopses, they are a part of my short stories. These synopses just help me to write my short stories. This time, there were only two of them. Sometimes I only need two or three paragraphs for my synopses, and this is one of them.

When I finished with my synopsis for this WDC Short Story, I started setting up the ten Sections/Parts for this WDC Short Story. After I finished setting up these ten Parts/Sections, I started writing this WDC Short Story. Unfortunately, I only had about eight hours to work on this WDC Short Story. No wonder I only got the first Three Sections/Parts written for it.

Why did I only get the first three Parts/Sections for the WDC Short Story for this month? It’s because I only had about eight hours to work on it. That’s right, I only had eight hours to work on it because it got somewhat busy at work early yesterday evening, to early this morning, especially after midnight WDC time early this morning.

I want to write another Section/Part or two today, aka the first day off from work, but because of needing to get some sleep today, because of working overnight this morning and what my brother and I had to do today, I didn’t get any more Parts/Sections written today. Usually, I will have a few hours every day to work on my writing. That didn’t happen today.

What does that mean for this WDC Short Story? It means that I still have seven more Sections/Parts to write before I finish writing this WDC Short Story. Since I have the next four days to finish it before the end of this week, I should be able to get it finished by this weekend. Hopefully, I will get it finished a lot earlier than that.

It all depends on what my brother and I need to do this week during my time off from work, but no matter how much my brother and I need to do each day, I usually have a few hours to devote to my writing. With only seven more Parts/Sections left to write, I shouldn’t have any problems getting this done by this weekend.

After all, that’s less than two Sections/Parts that I need to write each day, aka about four hundred words. There is no reason why I can’t write at least two Parts/Sections each day of this week. Of course, I hope I can get a lot more than that each day. The sooner I get done writing this WDC Short Story, the sooner I can get back to my scriptwriting.
