Under the influence of being an asshole (black and blue)

This is my black-and-blue response to "Invalid Entry"  by objurgate for "Follow the Leader"   by mood indigo

Five ways in which I can be an asshole:

1.

When I assume that everyone is motivated by the same things that move me, I can fail to honor that person's individual identity.

2.

When I say something out of pain or lash out in anger, I hurt someone else in return. I continue the unhealthy cycle.

3.

When I take umbrage at what someone else has said, assuming it was said to personally hurt me, responding negatively when I should just shrug it off.

4.

When I think I'm brilliant; when I want to toot my own horn. Not because that is a bad idea and not because I can't be utterly brilliant, but because the world truly doesn't care. If I can except that, my response to their lack of response won't be so whiny.

5.

When I wear a mask thinking no one can see right through it.

Well, I never drink. But that doesn't make me better or worse as a person ... just sober. When I am an asshole, I don't even have the excuse of being drunk.

I have two responses to this prompt. This is my black-and-blue mildly bruised follow-the-leader follow-up (yes, I'm HSP = highly sensitive person).
