Casualties of War By Lisa Noe Here they stand the casualties of wars, The government treats them just like whores! They come back home lame and broke, The way they are treated it is a joke. Many died and the rest feel pain, It’s enough to drive them insane. They’re taught to kill but their just kids, Many of them give in to suicide and blame. Today they’re treated like heroes, That’s great, But remember the vets you used to hate. I don’t forget what they went through, With out the approval of all of you! I stand tall and salute them all, And I’ll remember the ones that fall. I love the vets they’ve given me life, But all they get is a bunch of strife. God Bless you men and women in uniform, Thanks for the protection from the storm. I love that eagle that flies so high, And I miss all of those who died. This poem is dedicated to all the Veterans of war. |
