In Death
By Lisa Noe

You were so close to me
Death claimed you for his own
Alone I sit crying
With all of my hope blown

You were God’s masterpiece
That’s why he called you home
My heart is broken deep
And I am all alone

Life is a mystery
I don’t know what to think
Where am I in this life
I know my heart will sink.

Note: Yama is a hindi form, a four line stanza poem with six syllables per line, lines two and four ryhme.
