Adjectives
"Adjectives" Open in new Window.

In Writing Classroom today we are discussing adjectives. Adjectives are descriptive words. They're descriptive because they describe the subject or a noun in a sentence. For example I used the sentence "Look at the speckled puppy!"

"Speckled"is the adjective because it describes the puppy, which is the subject of the sentence. Today's assignment is to write four sentences and highlight the adjectives in them. Here are mine:

The horse's long mane is floating in the gusting wind.

The white goat is eating the green grass.

The pink rose has a wonderful smell.

The small tadpole swam in the cold water.
