WELCOME TO: GEMINI RISING   UPDATED INTRO 30 JUNE 2025: Just a little about me. I've been married for 33 years this past NOV and currently live in Southern California, but I grew up in New Hampshire. I've got 2 boys who are young adults. I work as a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. I enjoy my job a lot. Still. If you can believe that. I love to write. Thankfully both of my boys achieved Eagle Scout. My Scouting days are over and I'm back to focusing on my writing. I like to get out in nature, drink coffee and watch football. Here's a little bio about my zodiac. GEMINI: Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility, and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. The sign is linked with Mercury, the planet of childhood and youth, and its subjects tend to have the graces and faults of the young. When they are good, they are very attractive; when they are bad they are more the worse for being the charmers they are. Like children they are lively, and happy, if circumstances are right for them, or egocentric, imaginative and restless. Their good qualities are attractive and come easily to them. They are affectionate, courteous, kind, generous, and thoughtful towards the poor and suffering - provided none of the activities resulting from expressing these traits interferes too greatly with their own lives and comforts. Geminians can be successful in many walks of life though their general characteristics tend to make them unreliable. We stayed overnight in Dallas where Spooky Kooky Krista  was born and she showed us the sights. I’ve only been to Texas once and saw the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library in Austin, Texas. There’s a lot to do and see in Dallas. I think Spooky Kooky Krista would have liked us to stay longer but Maid of the Mist Most Macabre  said we had a schedule to keep so we got on the Party Bus and off we went. It took a good day to get to Uncertain, Texas and Caddo Lake. {user:elusive4lyn|} signed us up for the scavenger hunt. I’d never done one before so that sounded like it would be fun. We paired up 2 to a Kayak. A Warped Witch I Be and WakeUpAndLive~NOV Word Monger Šuŋgmánitu Tȟáŋka  and Giant Phantom Jelly StephBee  and Princess Megan Snow Rose   Spooky Kooky Krista and Maid of the Mist Most Macabre Which left AmyJo-Zombie hours by herself. So she put a bungee cord on her $50.00 Nalgene she bought in Hawaii so she wouldn’t loose it and we were off. We took the Old Folks Paddling Trail. The hunt? We had to find a Texas Longhorns Football in the middle of the swamp. https://tpwd.texas.gov/boating/paddling-trails/pineywoods/old-folks-playground/ The clues came in on our phones and then disappeared, so we had to pay attention. Giant Phantom Jelly had no idea what a Texas Longhorn was so WakeUpAndLive~NOV Word Monger showed her a video. Needless to say, everyone has their own style in paddling a kayak. Coordination was not our strong suit. Princess Megan Snow Rose wanted to know if there were crocodiles. No one knew. AmyJo-Zombie hours was glad there weren’t any rattlesnakes or scorpions though. We saw these white lotus and water lilies. Our next clue was at Starr Ranch. We paddled over there and pitched our kayaks. Šuŋgmánitu Tȟáŋka tore up the ranch looking for the clue but sweet little Spooky Kooky Krista found it hanging from one of the swamp trees. The woodpeckers were everywhere. We got back in the boats and paddled. Next stop was Swamp-Ass rock where we found another clue. We kept kayaking and kayaking and finally saw our Longhorns helmet – on a small raft attached to a swamp bush. Maid of the Mist Most Macabre , action junkie that she was, wanted to kayak right up to swamp bush and grab the helmet, but Šuŋgmánitu Tȟáŋka said there might be crocodiles. Princess Megan Snow Rose said if there were crocodiles she would pet them. Someone had to get the helmet. AmyJo-Zombie hours volunteered. She kayaked right over to that swamp bush and raft. Just as she was reaching for the helmet a crocodile came out of nowhere and snapped at her. Her Nalgene bottle flew up in the air and she almost lost it, but it hit the croc in the head and he moped off. She lunged for the helmet and threw it at A Warped Witch I Be who caught it. Turns out the prize was a meeting with Pierce Bronson. Giant Phantom Jelly was thrilled. I was kinda hoping for Patrick Duffy, but hey it’s Texas. ANYTHING can happen, right? |
| The Party Bus went cruising down main street in Nashville, Tennessee. Maid of the Mist Most Macabre was wicked distracted looking at all the country music stuff, restaurants, and museums. Finally, A Warped Witch I Be made Maid of the Mist Most Macabre park the bus and off we went. First destination was the Country Music Hall of Fame. I liked Country Music in the 90’s and developed an appreciation for it, but it’s not my first love. I gotta admit though, the Hall of Fame is impressive. Me and Princess Megan Snow Rose checked out the Reba and Keith Urban exhibits. Šuŋgmánitu Tȟáŋka was impressed with all the gold records. A Warped Witch I Be WakeUpAndLive~NOV Word Monger and Maid of the Mist Most Macabre  the Dolly exhibit. Princess Megan Snow Rose has a cool story about meeting Loretta Lynn. Giant Phantom Jelly just kind of straggled along as country music wasn’t quite her thing. She did like the Dolly Parton exhibit. Dolly did a lot of stuff outside of country music. I liked her movie “9 to 5” and she wrote, “I Will Always Love you.” AmyJo-Zombie hours found a Pink Cadillac and Spooky Kooky Krista took pictures for Instagram. The hype was the Pink Cadillac was once “touched” by Elvis, but hey, people will say anything when it comes to Elvis. They think he’s still alive and playing gigs in Vegas. Heck, people even think Elvis will marry them. After lunch, Princess Megan Snow Rose and I bought some Kate Spade purses, and we went to the Johnny Cash museum. I didn’t really get into his music until after I watched the movie called “Walk the Line.” My favorite song of his has got to be, “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.” After the Johnny Cash museum, we went back to the hotel where A Warped Witch I Be whipped out some moonshine. When we asked her where she got it, she wouldn’t tell. She teased us by saying it was her grandfather’s secret recipe. We all had a shot and then we were off to the Grand Ole Opry. Well, that moonshine hit us pretty good. Ricky Skaggs was playing. First time I heard his music but me and Princess Megan Snow Rose were jumping out of our seats and singing along. A Warped Witch I Be and WakeUpAndLive~NOV Word Monger joined us. Giant Phantom Jelly took a long time going to get popcorn so Šuŋgmánitu Tȟáŋka went to go find her. Afterwards, we all had to take an Uber back to the hotel. The next morning Giant Phantom Jelly passed out Tylenol and Motrin and A Warped Witch I Be swore off her grandfather’s moonshine for good. After Maid of the Mist Most Macabre recovered we were off for more adventures. We had to go see Dollywood and Elvis’s Graceland before we went hunting for Texas! |
