| Prompt: What are some of your favorite Christmas gifts from years past? My husband bought me a nice gold watch one year. Barbie Dolls. Elsa and Anna Dolls. A Nutcracker Madame Alexander Doll. Kate Spade Jewelry and purses. I got a beautiful lavender one this year. My Birthday is December 21. I got a Snoopy Cake for my Birthday this year. I got a Elsa Cake for my 50th Birthday. My son and his wife bought me Thomas Kincaid picture frames and put family pictures in them. One year, I got a cute Teddy Bears Nursing Shirt from my Director Of Nursing. My husband bought me a blanket chest one year. This year I got a blue birthstone diamond ring and a small diamond ring and amethyst ring. My husband bought me a emerald ring and a ring that said Love with a diamond in it. My mother always bought me pearl necklaces and designer cologne. One year, she bought me a Pioneer Woman Crock Pot, Macy's pink Tea Set and White Cat Cookie Jar and matching salt and pepper shakers. My mother bought me snowbabies with Disney characters and Rudolph and Barbie. When I was a kid, I got Chatty Cathy, Barbies, Skipper and clothes for them. I have gotten nice sweaters. I got a stuffed Eeyore. I got a stereo when I was a teenager. I got a Christmas clock that plays music. I got jewelery boxes. These are some of my favorite gifts.  |
| Prompt:"I wondered how anyone could ever imagine unique slumbers for the sleepers in that quiet earth." Emily Bronte Wuthering Heights Joy asked what we thought what Emily meant by this quote. I love Wuthering Heights and The Bronte Sisters. I had to think about this. Did she mean the dead who are buried in the moors? The dead may come back as ghosts like Heathcliff and Catherine did in the movie. I will stick to reality. People who die go to Heaven. They are no longer there but it is their final resting place. This is sad. Cemeteries are for the departed. Some cemeteries get disturbed. Cemeteries should be quiet and peaceful. Death is like sleep but you don't wake up. Death is peaceful. Camping. Sleeping outside in tents and sleeping bags. That may be quite unless owls and wolves make noises. I have no desire to sleep in a pup tent or sleeping bag. I sleep in a house but I slept in a camper when I went camping years ago. It's not for me. I think Emily put this quote in her book Wuthering Heights and maybe she was thinking of the departed. It sounds scary sleeping in the ground but if one is dead, you won't know it. Unique slumbers. Just enjoy life and someday when we depart, look forward to being with Jesus. Mixed thoughts. A good quote. I wish Emily was here so she and I could discuss this. These are my thoughts about this. Emily, I hope you don't have unique plumbers and are resting in peace. |
| 4 Degrees. Cold. I haven't been out of the house in a week. I hope to go out this week. My husband is bringing home a chocolate cake with Snoopy on it for my Birthday. My Birthday is next Sunday. I cleaned the kitchen. I watched A Mom For Christmas with Olivia Newton John. I love this movie. Hoping for a good week. |
| Winter. How do we recharge? It is too cold to do anything. I stay inside. I try to keep my house clean. I try to eat right. I pray. I rest as much as possible. I wish I could recharge my battery if I had one. We just take care of ourselves. We think of happy things. I read Bible Passages. We just live each day as it comes. We hope life is good for all of us. Just rest, eat and try to be positive. Works for me. Winter will do its worst. |
| Prompt: Lyn asked if we bake cookies and cakes for other people or if we receive baked goodies for others? No, I don't bake sweets and goodies for other people. I bake a chocolate cake for my husband and me or a Funfetti cake. If someone drops by, I do share it. I can't roll out cookies and bake them. My mother used to bake fudge and gingerbread men for me and everyone. I miss her so much. Not for her goodies but because she was Mom. My husband and I buy gingerbread men and Christmas cakes. I used to bake cupcakes in my mini cupcake maker. I have no ambition. My husband ordered a chocolate cake with Snoopy on it for my Birthday. I do look forward to that. Baked goodies. I do love them. |
| Winter countdown. It's here. Today, we got some sun. No rain or snow. Cold. We had wind earlier this week. Wearing granny pajamas and nightgown. My kitty sleeps in the closet on a dog blanket. She likes sleeping underneath a lighthouse blanket on the bed. I watched Christmas Vacation. One of my favorite Christmas movies. It may snow tomorrow but just an inch. Hopefully, winter will be quiet for awhile. More winter adventures I am sure. |
| We had rain and snow today. The snow turned to slush. 30 some Degrees. I got some carpet cleaners to shampoo Mom's rugs and it will be done next week. I called my cousin today. We hadn't talked in awhile. He is going through a lot. Going to be quiet tomorrow but more snow this weekend. I will manage somehow. Those facing bad weather will endure as well. |
| We are getting freezing rain and back to lake effect snow. It is cold. It is going to be cold the rest of the week and more snow. Every weekend, we are snowed in. I have no plans this week. Maybe write a story. Just stay warm. I have been listening to Christmas music and I am sure we are having a white Christmas. The snow will be here for Christmas. How's winter your way? |
| I ordered a purple Kate Spade Purse from Kate Spade, the day before Thanksgiving. It was scheduled to be here a week later on Wednesday. Wednesday came and went. The emails kept saying it will be the next day. It got here Monday. It was 5 days late. My husband has an electric auto repairs store. He orders parts and FedEx is always late. They don't care about their customers. So sad. The US Mail. I ordered a Downton Abbey Book. I got the package. It was empty! The book said contents were removed and the box was damaged. Porch pirates before it even got to my door. The delivery of mail and packages has been this way since Covid! I guess we just hope things improve. I am fedup! |
| I didn't go to Church. It snowed an inch. It's going to be 2 Degrees tonight. I made my potato soup. I vacuumed today. I watched Christmas Shows all day. Not very exciting. |
