My mind and my life are wonderous things ... as are yours, I'm sure. I have more slips of paper and pages of notebooks with musings and thoughts than I really know what to do with. Someone, actually several someones, have suggested I start a blog ... or a journal as a means of focusing some of this mental energy.
To be honest, I don't even know what the difference between a 'journal' and 'blog' is--or if there even is a difference. Read on, my friends, and you can judge for yourself whether it even matters.
And so....
I'm JACE. Yep ... that's me! And somewhere in all my writings my last name may be posted. But I'll just leave it at Jace for right now. I'm 70 years old and heading full tilt to 71. It's strange that while I'm going through some rather serious medical issues, I still consider myself to be in the prime of my life--pretty good shape physically AND mentally, though I don't run for competition anymore . I love to ... dang, if I put this stuff here, I won't have anything for my blog.
Guess you just have to be patient until such stuff leaks out. Perhaps 2025, having embraced my retirement, will see more participation in my journaling efforts.
SantaBee - The trip was uneventful, and the many booths at the ChristKindleMart (probably spelled that wrong) was much better than I thought. Jeanette did good.
The water was hot for my shower, but the bathroom was decidedly cold. I think the only heat came from what might have flowed through the door from the rest of the house. It IS a quaint place though.
This random proliferation of ideas is why I started listing journal topics for my main book item (My blog item is a slightly different beast that truly requires planning.)
Good job, Jace! You are breaking your own record. Keep up the good work.
I managed to hold on to my daily achievements even while traveling South. Not an easy thing. I found typing on my phone in the car was not my forte! But I didn't mess up. I had a great streak before messing up last May on my return North. I think I had a daily record of close to 300 days. Something like that. When It gets that high, it's harder starting all over again. But I did. I think I have 218 day streak since then. But I'm sure I'll screw up eventually!
My wife does the majority of the decorating; I help as asked. This year, we did the outside lights before it got cold. It was still chilly, but above freezing.
Buddy likes to play with things. The last time I hung stockings from our Chimney, he pulled them off, and promptly broke the stocking holder. No more stockings on the chimney.
I used to be big into Starbucks, but then when money got tight in California, I couldn't afford it anymore so I stopped going. Now, over the years, I get Starbucks gift cards for helping out, Christmas, birthdays, holidays and I decided to to collect them and put them in my phone. I've got $80.00 worth of GC for Starbucks. Time to enjoy a drink a two.
for the girls. I have no doubt they learned something invaluable from you that they've applied going forward in their lives. How to learn and how to be adaptive and the value of hard, honest, work.
