I'm so sorry for your loss. Our fur babies aren't just animals, they're family. I have four urns on my nightstand, Fluffy, Quasi, Purryl and Yeatsie, they're my cats. My daughter thinks it's morbid but I don't. They always slept with us at night so on the night stand works for me.
I hope you find comfort in all the joyful memories you shared.
So sorry for your loss! I can so understand your feelings about your Akita, such a great companion. Animals understand and feel for us in ways humans can't. I know this because I'm still mourning my cat that died suddenly about a year ago.
I hope, at least, you can find some comfort in the memory of her days with you.
Nice entry and you do have a healthy way of dealing with nasty stuff. Life means facing those storms head-on and still staying on top of them all, anyway.
You're right tomorrow isn't guaranteed and living our life out way is the greatest gift we can give ourselves and our loved ones by leading by example.
I can easily imagine ankles, knees and or hips getting yanked out of their accustomed places by the sudden halting of that death-defying plunge, so no bungees for me, thank you! Although, intellectually, I think it would be cool to skydive, I'm pretty sure I'll keep getting into and, most importantly, out of airplanes the old fashioned way.
