A metaphor for my take on life and how it affects me.

Memories bring up other memories. Writing about Disneyland made me think of a time when my first wife and I took our nephew to Marineland of The Pacific located on Palos Verdez Peninsula in Los Angeles, County.

It was a big Aquatic Theme Park with a lots of fish swimming in big tanks, and they had different shows with Penguins and Dolphins and other entertainment.

They also had boat rides out around the peninsula and we took one. The boat had seating both inside and out. The outside portion was on the aft end of the boat with several rows of seating. Those seats were about 3 feet above the water line. It was a little cool that day, when we boarded the boat and we sat in the back to see all he would could. After we'd been out for a while a rogue wave came over the side of the boat. It drenched both my nephew and me and I jumped up and hollered "Jesus H Christ" I have no idea where that came from; but out of my mouth it came! The people around us were looking at me and I was drenched and I said "I'm sorry". We moved back into the inside of the boat and found towels to help us dry off. Needles to say we left shortly after the boat docked and we took our nephew home!

I've never asked my nephew who is now 50 if he remembers that day; but I do!

Enough for now

Another beautiful day in the High Desert, our temp reached 89° and in the evening we had a light breeze that helped cool it down a little.

The other day I read and reviewed a Story about Disneyland, and the story was a good one. I thought I had read it before, and I'm now sure I had.

This story brought back many memories of times at Disneyland. Since I'm a Native Son of The Golden West, I was born in San Bernardino and Disneyland is only 60 miles away. My parents took my brother and I there in within a few months of its opening in 1955. I would have been 8 years old. I don't think there were that many rides at the time and the Matterhorn was still under construction. I don't believe I could tell you the number of times I've been there mainly because it's been so many. I've watched it change over the years and it's become more exciting.

Being in California we went to Disneyland for Graduation from High School and that was a blast. Every time I've gone has been great! There are a lot of memories there.

I had one special occasion, I had taken my girlfriend there in 1971 and while we were on the Haunted House Ride I ask her to Marry Me, weird and different certainly wasn't normal. She said yes and we had a wonderful time.

Disneyland will always have a special place in my heart because of all my experiences! It's a great place for the family.

I think that enough
