Thoughts, we all have them. What is yours?

What is on your mind? I love all type of topics and will talk about almost anything! So, what is happening with you lately?

Come, tell me about yourself. What excites you about writing? What other things do you do: Art, music, animals?

Prompt #28: If you could create a charitable foundation with billions of dollars in resources, what causes would you try to tackle?

It would be to end homelessness. In a country as wealthy as ours, homelessness should not be rapid. With billions in resources, no Veteran, senior or child should be living on the streets. First, temporary shelters could be established using vacant city lots with over site by the charitable organization created. These temporary shelters should provide housing, showers and food sources. Helping those to be clean, fed and have a place to sleep, then programs to assist in obtaining employment should begin. I would love to see a program where everyone who is considered homelessness, would be involved in the program itself. A organization that would employ billions of dollars/resources should be able to utilize the talents (even how minimal) of those who are being helped.

If people are healthy enough to do some type of work, should do so. Any skills taught or brought to the organization by the homelessness, would apply back into the organization. Clerical workers, trades, talents learned via Veterans can be utilized to support the organization. It sounds like a massive take on, but I do believe it could work. Those individuals that have health issues, whether drugs or illnesses, would have to be exempt for the work contribution program and be encompassed in a separate program but indirectly connected to the charitable foundation. As these individuals improved in the health situation they would be required to give back in some fashion.

I don't have all the details work out in my mind but I do feel it is feasible.
