Agreed, also.
Yes, WdC contests do need more serious thinking and planning, and they are priceless for writers to test their own craft. And like you, I bet most of us will need time to come up with a good story or a writing of any sort.

I agree 100% with everything you said. Sadly though, we live in a pretty small house, there's no room for my children to join us, nor are their houses large enough for us. I think living as a large family is nice, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. My only concern (here in the states) is that the daughter I might live with would get tired of cooking for a group. Yes, we could cook, at times. She has a problem being on her feet for extended periods of time, I can be on my feet, but my sciatica nerve pain tends to 'act up'. It would be a challenge, that's for sure. A challenge, but not impossible.
At the moment I’m reading Jodi Picoult’s The Storyteller. I’m enjoying it so far. I think it’s probably one of her older books. I liked her a lot at one time but they became a little formulaic I thought. But after a few years break I decided to have another go.
My last book was the Glassmaker by Tracey Chevalier. It was a tremendous read I thought. It covered a huge time span but with the same characters barely aging as the story progressed. Sort of magical realism I suppose you’d call it.
I don’t read an awful lot as when I have the time to sit and read I find myself logging on to WdC!
