Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end.
So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.
(suser:wordsmitty} There's nothing rigid about giving days amended names. Anyone can do it. And, if you want two snack days back to back, who am I to deny you?
As for the months, I was dreading that suggestion coming up. Let me think about it for a while...

The key to satire is not how skillfully it is written, but how accessible it is to the audience. Well, that might depend on how well it is written. I tend to satirize obscure things that only matter to me. Nevermind.
I will wait for Sunday to comment.
Friday is really asking for it, isn't it? But far be it from me to take the easy route. I shall say nothing of frying and friars and instead point at the Fry family of England, those staunch Quakers and chocolate manufacturers and their descendant, the large and well known actor/comedian/fount of all knowledge, Stephen Fry. The day was surely named to celebrate this bunch.
And, if that's not enough to win you over, consider what the standard fare for such a day must be. I happen to like chocolate.
