Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end. So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.     |
| Quill Thoughts I had opened my blog to see if I could think of something to post, when my eye was drawn to the array of Quill near-awards listed in the header. It occurred to me that the two in the middle don't mention the Quill at all, although the colouring matches with the 2023 one. I guess they thought just the quill symbol was enough to identify them. And then I thought how different were the styles of the awards from one year to the next. Get them all together from the very first to the latest and you'd have a museum of design taste over the last couple of decades. Somebody should do that. |
