Trust of the Motorist

The road goes ever ever on,
“Or does it?” the Joker said,
“Every blind corner is a test
of faith in your heart and head
that the road workers kept to task,
paving the way for your drive;
bridging the bottomless pit,
and so keeping yourself alive.”
