Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

rumbling in the midst of African drought
and the cat hiding under the bed
from storms you know nothing about.
