My journey from fat to fit!

I’ve been trying to lose fat and get fit for a long time. This will be my blog about my fitness journey!

When a lot of people go from extremely fat to healthy and fit, they usually leave a lot out of their story. For instance, in online articles someone might have one paragraph describing when they were 300 pounds and sneaking fast food on their way home before eating a regular dinner with their family, then in the next paragraph they’re out running 5K’s and 10K’s.

I want to show the fitness journey from beginning to end, with a lot of details and the philosophical outlook I’ve come up with on my own to guide me on my fitness journey. Hopefully, my experience can help others.

I completed 15 consecutive days of walking before breakfast before taking a day off, from November 21st through December 5th.

The other day my landlady came inside the trailer I live in, and saw that it needed to be cleaned. I spent the next few days getting everything clean. The reason I brought this up is because having a clean environment and a fit body go hand in hand. Having the discipline to lose fat and get fit isn’t easy, but it prepares you for life.

When I see AI photos of a teenager with a heavy metal t-shirt and skinny arms, it makes me sick. That is what I looked like in the 1980s, when I could’ve gone into bodybuilding instead of drugs and alcohol. There was so much wasted time! By getting fat and out of shape, I feel like I’m living in an alternate reality, and I was meant to be fit and muscular.

I’ve tried to abstain from junk food in the recent past, but I fell off the wagon. Instead of saying I’m going to abstain for 3 months, I’m just going to try to see how long I can stay away from it. I bought healthy foods when I went shopping, and a lot of different types of fruit. The fruit can feed my sweet tooth. I bought a king sized Milky Way and a jug of chocolate milk, but once they were gone I had no choice but to eat healthy until next payday.

I have a 7 point plan for being healthy: Stay away from drugs, stay away from alcohol, stay away from tobacco, do cardio consistently, lift weights consistently, eat healthy, plenty of fruits and vegetables, and obey all laws.

Exercise only adds a short amount of time to your lifespan, but the quality of your life increases dramatically. Someone who never exercises may need to use a walker when they’re in their 70s, but someone who exercises a lot will be more mobile later in life and able to bend down and pick things up from the ground.

I like the pump from lifting weights. I bought a triceps bar and have been using it. The feeling of seeing progress with my training makes me addicted to training more! I recall when I was 25 and could do 125 push-ups in one set, I had attacked someone who disrespected me and thrown him through the air. An enemy of mine who heard about that was impressed with my strength. That is a strong motivator to take my weight training workouts more seriously.

Another time an enemy challenged me to a fight, and someone with the same genetic makeup as me but with bigger muscles challenged him, and the enemy got scared. He wanted to know why someone that big would fight someone like him. This is a prime motivator to take train until I reach my goal physique! A lot of the problems I’ve had with enemies could’ve been resolved by having an intimidating physique. They wouldn’t have chosen to mess with me to begin with. Building an impressive physique is more important than making a lot of money.

I hit the 270s again Friday, 12/12/25 after a lengthy time in the 280s.
