I cannot trust a man to control others who cannot control himself- Robert E. Lee

Despite the awesome place man has in creation like the Devil of old many are unwilling to accept their special and unique position, a position of a prince and yet of servanthood. The second Adam or Christ as the fulfillment of the Law brought man back into a place where he could fulfill his purpose and needs. Man was created as a pinnacle of the Lord’s work here was a being birthed in perfection; yet he was even closer to God than the Angels for he was created in the very image of the One and Only. Despite this lofty beginning with the mandate to rule in the name of the Father man fell thanks to the tempter who had already perverted his ways and sought to corrupt that which the Lord held most dear. In this he largely succeeded.

Jews and Gentiles have always had varying responses to the fulfillment of the Law and promise their duty to their creator. These include anger, confusion and derision, to the persecutor becoming a passionate advocate all of the hatred and misunderstanding come down to two things, rebellion and unbelief. In Genesis 1 we see a glimpse of existence before the fall. We see the volition of man in perfection and the serpent and not only the curse of God on his creature, but on man’s domain and subjects as well. Some examples of the curse on the dominion of man include the soil, the serpent which lost its legs, and other creatures which were estranged from man. The scripture says that creation longs for the day it can throw off the fetters of this curse.

the Law was powerless to do was to change men’s hearts. For The new covenant supported by grace is even more exacting then the old. We are now slaves to righteousness. Our attitudes our thoughts and our actions are all to be subjected to the Spirit of grace. Martin Luther sought to make the word of God the starting point and final authority for his Theology. Scripture tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. This is why men who are supposed to be setwards and rulers of creation are often a corrupt natures slaves.

I have always believed that the due to 2 Thessalonians as well as other passages in a mid-trib rapture. I have also found it interesting that according to some pastors some true believers may be left behind. Regardless of the timing of the saints being taken out the one standing in the way can't be the church for several reasons.

1. The church is the bride of Christ- yet this verse specifically says he
2. In this passage Paul specifically says that day will not come until after the lawless one is revealed.
3. The man of lawlessness is specifically called, in contrast to our Lord, one who once was-now is not, and yet would come if the Spirit of God is holding the Antichrist back through the church how can it be that before the general dispensation of the Holy Spirit this evil was held back.

Based on these and the whole council of God I don't believe the church is the one standing in the way of the son of perdition.

I noticed the other day that Dr. Dobson died and it reminded me that recently John MacArthur’ also passed away. Within the last couple of years several key individuals good and bad, some even unfortunately sold out to evil, yet bastions of remembrance are passing. The scary thing is if wisdom is not passed on it can be forgotten or twisted. Ronald Reagan said that we are always only one generation away from freedom's extinction In Judges 2 6-7 we see that once joshua and the elders who were with him passed away Israel forsook the Lord. I think one good question for America will it thrive or even survive, once the last generation of such molders truly passes?

It seems like now days a lot of people have faith in faith, but faith itself is trust. If we do not trust what is true our Faith is in vain. Our faith is trust in Christ who dies and was raised. We know that he is the only way to the Father. This is why Satan always attacks the person of Christ denying his deity, or his character. This includes acknowledging the wickedness of sin, the completeness of forgiveness, the futility of our sacrifices, or the Lordship of Christ. Faith is upheld by the Holy Spirit as we are told people are blinded by the prince of this world (2 Cor 4:4).

2 Cor 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Romans 10:9

1 John 5:12
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Have you ever wondered why eastern Mysticism and evil is so entwined with such items as yoga, types of martial arts, certain dancing, and various health and clinical practices?

Based on the verses below as well as others the intersection of the body, mind, self-control and worship is a unique place in our relationship with Christ.

Romans 12:1-2
12Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will

2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

In Lord of the Rings when the Fellowship is outside Moria Gandalf tries many words as the password to the door and fails but when he steps back in frustration after a while he realizes the answer was on the door all the time. The inscripion which read "speak friend and enter" was not telling the friend to speak the password but that the password was friend. Such is the kingdom of God simple yet without the Spirit and the choosing of Christ we remain blind because of our own willfullness.

Luke 10:23-23
21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

22 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

In the New Testament scripture is very clear on when Jesus is telling parables and not. Genesis is clear that Adam and Eve were literal people, backed by science of descent, but not modern thought. We see the creation of life on earth and in we see that the Church can be apostate. We also see plainly the evils of perversion and the Lordship, deity, and resurrection of Christ. Men can argue original text, but I find it fascinating that we, those who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit do not realize how much our world view and theology affect our knowledge of scriptures rather than the other way around.

This is why I often joke that seminary ruins pastors. The learning, at least at many, is usually quite solid but the theology is built on tradition and tradition can keep us solid and or make us blind to the truth.

2 Timothy 3: 15-16
15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

It looks like Israel is again not standing up for their rights and will not fully take back Gaza. They have this right not only as a nation which is justly subduing those who hate it but giving away land which is not theirs to give. Naturally there is and always will be extreme pressure not to stand up. This is just as true in our daily lives as Christians. It is so easy to compromise on what has been given to us by God. Our unalienable rights such as those of life, and liberty are also under attack. Do we defend them not because they are ours, but because they are given to us by God?We like the Israelites sin when we do not defend what has been given to us. This is not because it is ours, but because it is an inheritance from the Lord.

Did you ever wonder where the idea of self-forgiveness comes from? This seems to me to be a very unbiblical idea. The only forgiveness that should matter to a Christian is the forgiveness of Christ. Once sin is truly repented of we have no business forgiving ourselves or accepting our own forgiveness; we walk under the blood of Christ. It is his blood only that can cleanse the conscience.

Hebrews 9:14
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

The verses below are fairly well known as Christians seek to keep their fire alive and are aware that the Holy Spirit is present in gatherings of his People. Based on these verses and this chapter I wonder do we fulfill our purpose in going to a church and does my church fulfill it's purpose for those who go to it?

Hebrews 10 24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
