| It's simple really,  choose one of the quotes and create a new poem.  See, easy....right? READ CAREFULLY!  The contest begins Sunday, July  20th and ends Sunday, July 27th at 12 MIDNIGHT Writing.com Time  Choose one of the quotes below and weave it into a poem.  The complete quote may not be used as a stanza.  The quote is to be cut into stanzas.  Each stanza must contain no less than three words from the quote per stanza.  Only one quote cut per stanza.  The quote cuts do not have to start the stanza but they are to remain as recognizable cuts from the quote.  Every stanza must contain a quote cut.  Quote cuts may not be repeated once used.  The cuts can not stand alone as stanzas.  See the example below (bold is just for illustration only): "Of all the words of tongue and pen The saddest are 'It might have been.' " Whittier Of all the words We should have said We did not Deftly sidestepping emotion Refusing to discern the obvious. Of tongue and pen Wielded with ironic precision Crafting clever bon mons Eyes refusing to see What hearts knew. The saddest are words unspoken Except in amorphous realms Each knowing but not wanting Trusting but not venturing forth. It might have been So many things Or nothing Held tightly in hearts Well protected.  The poem may not contain more than five stanzas.  Each stanza may not contain more than seven lines.  All entries must be created new and specifically for this contest.  Only one entry per person.  Only blue or black ink. No colored ink , topiary, or centering.  Poems are to be posted in the forum directly.  You may post a bitem if you wish your poetry reviewed and rated.  YOU MUST POST YOUR POEM.  BITEM IS NOT REQUIRED.  Post your entry by REPLYING TO THE CONTEST POST.  Read all guidelines carefully.  Non-compliance will result in disqualification and deletion.  Each entry will receive 750 gps.  All entries must be posted by 12 MIDNIGHT Writing.com Time the following Sunday.  Poems will not be considered for judging after 12:00:01 am.  You may edit your entry up to 12 MIDNIGHT on July 27th.  Any entries not conforming to the guidelines will be deleted at the forum moderator's discretion.  Each entry will be judged on adherence to form guidelines, content, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.  Exception will be given to works purposely using dialect to enhance the poem.  You may use any poetry form, but the piece needs to flow seamlessly.  The piece should not feel forced or contrived.
