Writer's Fallout Shelter

I think this is a good interpretation (passion for the subject). Far too many people, I believe, take it to mean that you should only write about those things that are immediately familiar to you, but I don't think that can be right--how many people have actually met a vampire to write about it?

I think another part of this knowledge that is necessary is to know what you want to happen to your characters, at least emotionally. Know the type of emotional growth you want them to have, and the events of the plot will fall into place to help you (them) achieve that. I think this makes a better story, with more fully realized characters.

Did that make sense? For someone who writes, I can certainly be inarticulate at times!
