I'm writing historical fiction set in medieval Ireland with no elements of fantasy or magic. There are no secret organizations, government agencies, heists, or diseases involved in my story at all. The only "thing" that gets stolen is my male protagonist and the only "object" that is important to my story is a prophecy that is heard being recited and not written down anywhere.
Could anyone help me brainstorm what kinds of things I might need to define in a story like mine and/or a type of object I could describe? I'm sure there's something obvious here that I'm overlooking.
