But my world is already there, ready to be backdrop to my story once more (NYC is a vain little bugger). I've photos and videos from places it's set (although I didn't know back in 2009 that I'd write a NaNo set in the early 2010s in NYC)... for the rest, there's Goggle Earth and information the City (five boroughs) itself provides.

For everything else, I'll just ask. I think native New Yorkers or long residents will share when asked.
