Time travel would be awesome, and it would also take care of the money thing. If I went back in time and invested $1,000 in Apple the day after its famous Super Bowl Ad (i.e., January 23, 1984), those shares would be worth almost $18,000,000 today. And if you could time travel at will, who's to say you couldn't take that $18 million and go back in time again to use use that as your initial investment instead of just the $1,000? I'd come back to the present to find $32.1 billion dollars waiting for me. How does that "teach a man to fish" quote from the Bible go again? "Give a man a million dollars, and he'll spend it. Teach him how to time travel, and you've funded him for a lifetime." Or, you know, something like that. Not just to get rich, though, time travel would be awesome to go back and relive memorable experiences... go forward to see how particular decisions worked out before you decide to make them. It'd be fun to play a little "fast forward/rewind" with pivotal decisions and moments in your life. Yes, I basically want to turn my life into the movie Sliding Doors. |
