I'd go with virtually down the center or no cuts at all. Except for when i pull apart a tuna fish sandwich in to little chunks... a habbit from many years ago when I first got my braces off and biting was still difficult.

After reading other people's replies I do agree there really is no "correct" way to cut a sandwich simply ones preference.
