I'm sure that the scientists will let us know if they ever find any real proof of life being out there (and I'm not against it - I'm as interested in the matter as anyone). But, for the moment, we have to be realistic and admit to ourselves that, so far, it seems there's nothing. Just a word about this nonsense about the universe being so big that it has to contain life elsewhere - and the matter of our arrogance in assuming that there ain't any - neither size nor arrogance has any bearing upon the matter of truth. Just because a mountain is big, doesn't mean it has to contain gold. And I can be the most arrogant person in the world and still be right on occasion. |
