My mom, most definitely. When I was about seven, we came home from church and entered the house. My dad worked nights, so it was just my mom, my aunt Linda, and my two brothers. My mom realized very quickly that someone was in the house, ushered my brothers and I into the hall closet, and soon reappeared carrying my dad's shotgun, held at the ready. My aunt followed her holding my brother's guitar case like a club. She had figured out the person was in our laundry room next to the kitchen. She stopped just inside the kitchen and yelled out, "Alright, you son of a B...., I have a shotgun and if you don't leave now, I'm gonna blow your head off!" The door to the garage flew open with a crash and we heard the person scrambling frantically to get the big garage open. After she was sure he was out, she walked out onto the driveway and yelled, "And don't you ever come back!" My brothers and I had followed her outside and saw her standing in the driveway, feet braced apart, holding the shotgun up at an angle. She looked like Daniel Boone, LOL. That happened almost 60 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. She is an incredible woman. Averren ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** What is Mom doing over there? My fledgling blog.
