My output of short stories declined in 2022 - worryingly so. They were not less (hopefully) but were definitely fewer. So, for 2023, I set myself the goal of a considerable increase in prose production but without too much of a decrease on the poetry side. I aimed at 36 stories for the year. As it turned out, the extra spur of having set a goal actually resulted in a total of 49. And that was without noticeably affecting poetry production (too many to count).
