Probably not to everyone's taste, but I love to try to solve the mysteries. Author Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe series. He's a genius detective weighing in at a 7th of a ton, who rarely leaves his home. Archie Goodwin is his legman and adds humor, personality and makes his character lovable. Archie is the narrator who is actually making written records of all cases, thus writing his experiences with Nero Wolfe in book form. Wolfe owns the Brownstone. He has a passion for growing orchids on his rooftop greenhouse. There is so much more to the characters. It comes down to the great mind of Rex Stout, the author. I also love the high use of the English language. It helps writers to learn better vocabulary usage. There's so much more to love. I'll just leave this small introduction here.    |
