It definitely takes a life of its own because the characters might be similar in that they are both penguin shifters but they aren't the exact same. Like with mine one of them is there because his mother insisted he go and the other is there to support a friend. They have their own personalities that develop too. The endings may be similar in that it's a romance so things will work out for the couple and the egg in the end but will be shown in a different way.
