There's a tad bit of historical accuracy in it, but it's more hysterically funny on the adult side.
I haven't seen the 1951 Broadway version, but think the movie is excellent, especially since Lee MARVIN once again demonstrates his ability to act as a funny drunk (is it acting?)
Next time, I'll buy the movie.
Other good movies (my opinion) that started on Broadway: "Hair" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum".
