Not really. In Australia, while there is some vitriol, because we have more than 2 parties, there is a lot more give and take. I mean, the latest kerfluffle is about the latest legislation to go through making it illegal for bosses to put workers on call to answer emails, the phone, etc. 24/7. The right side want the law repealed because they don't think workers deserve a life; the left side with the help of all minor parties just enacted it. Hardly earth-shattering, I know.
We do watch UK politics at times, and we think of US politics as a sh*t-show circus that cannot possibly be real. Most Australians regard the US as a theocratic country, and so your politics make no sense to us. We take note every 4 years when you vote in what you call a "president", and what the rest of the world...
