Question of the Day!

People continue to have children, even though they know, on some level, that no matter what they do or how they raise them, they might turn out to be another serial killer, genocidal dictator, corporate lawyer, or tax collector. And yet, they make the choice to have children, their optimism that this won't happen superseding the very real danger to society any new human being poses.

AI is no different, except that unless and until it develops some infinite power source, we can simply pull the plug. Unless we decide, collectively, that this is the same as murder.
