When I was studying journalism, we did a lot of study of copyright. I guess it would have to be a special kind of writing. Is the original author going to be upset about one of the characters from their writings being used in someone else's story? Also, can a fan set a character in the right mood? I think writers are pretty close to the characters they make up. It is a little like bringing a new child into being. However, if a fan needs to see that character in a light of their own, I can see why they want to write a story that bends the character into what they see. I'm reminded of writing stories that include Writing stories about Andre from "The Banana Bar". I have read many of the stories written about Andre as well as having written a few of my own. It is interesting to see the way each different writer portrays Andre in his normal antics. There is probably not a thing wrong with fan writings as long as the original writer does not object. Beware of copyright though. There could be a specific copy right sentence that would refer to specific types of writing. apondia#1781748 |
