Fantasy is something I know little about. If I wrote this for NaNo I would put in as much fantasy stuff as I am familiar with, but most of all I would write the story anyway possible to capture the ideas. During the editing process you can research and add more fantasy elements. Write the story and don't worry about anything else because it is the story you want right now.
