It's nice to think that our pets that are no longer among the living come check on us. The other shadow animals sound startling though.

That reminds me of when my mom was dying. She told my dad that she saw hundreds of evil looking chihuahuas surrounding her bed. I'm not sure if that was spirits or the pain killers but it was pretty disturbing.
